So today is 21/12/08. My only day off this week, but more notably the day after the much anticipated xi / xii Count Down Pack was released to the masses. Initially, with media releases on various sites such as HB / Niketalk / SneakerNews / SneakerFreaker / etc , revealing Jordan Packs consisting of two shoes, adding up to 23 had all Jordan heads’ eyes light up as it was a chance to obtain what was previously thought the unattainable. Naturally, most of us quickly ran through our favourite Jordans, only to quickly realize that we would have to work out an extra $x just for the high-performance-i-can’t-wear-casually-because-i-would-look-like-a-retard -but-yes-they-would-be-good-to-ball-in Jordans. Something about rocking xix with shorts somehow just doesn’t come off  huh.

Anyway. So after realizing that the packs that encompassed Jordans that I had wanted as a kid / just wanted period was the xi / xvii (xvii do look like space boots, but hey, I wanted them when I saw my first retro card) and obviously the xi / xii (And yes I do actually like the xii. First Jordan White/French Blue. Should never have balled outside in them…..never). Initially, after reading the first press releases, the plan for the year was wait it out and get the final pack; the much coveted xi / xii pack. The initially thoughts of a line up over night with friends was appealing. I mean why not? When was the next time I mite get my hands on the xi??? Or more importantly the xii.

– The District Manager of Foot Locker NZ (Who will remain nameless) makes an appearance at Qubic Store. Previously, working at FL Queen Street, I was familiar with the “chain of man” / pecking order / hierarchy or whatever you want to call it. So here was my chance to clarify if it was possible to use the “first purchase” 20% off discount card. The answer was “well previously we have not had a problem with it, so I do not see a problem this time around” (in a South African Accent of course). My Eyes lit up…$480 for a CDP…I’m there! We continued to talk and it was clarified that we could, in theory, effectively buy out the whole break down if desired. Me and Leon danced for joy. It was like a dream sequence in a movie…EPIC!

That night, I checked my email…only to find this….

Jordan Countdown Packs!

This is it folks, the one you've been waiting for! This Saturday 20th December sees the release of the hotly anticipated Jordan Countdown pack that includes the AJ 11 and the AJ 12. These sweet retro Jordans are very limited, so be sure to line up early!

Just a couple of things to note:

• The Countdown packs are sold on a first come / first served basis

• There is a limit of one pack per customer

• Club members can only use their 10% discount and no other offers or discounts

Note: “Club members can only use their 10% discount and no other offers or discounts” and "There is a limit of one pack per customer"..HMMMM  sounds like two issues i cleared up with a certain somebody on THAT DAY!!!!!!

What the Fetch? Wait a minute. We had previously clarified and ascertained that the use of our “first time purchase” 20% card would be warranted. And now this? No where on the card does it say “subject to terms and conditions”.  SCREW YOU FOOTLOCKER NEW ZEALAND!

Where is your good faith? I understand that you are attempting to make a few extra bucks by capitalizing on the market with this “premium” product, but don't screw with our Jordans!!!!
