On his recent Nike Basketball Asia Tour, Kobe Bryant stopped by Singapore to not only check up on the local basketball players but also to recieve these custom Nike Dunk High’s from arguably the best sneaker customizer in the game, SBTG. SBTG who recently released an Original Collection of custom College Nike Dunk’s, created this special 1 of 1 “Varsity Bones” pair for Kobe Bryant, that takes inspiration from the idea of “What if?”. Although Kobe went straight to the NBA out of Lower Merion High School, he has said on a number of occasions he would’ve gone to Duke, had he chosen to go to College. This SBTG x Nike Dunk High features the Duke colorway as well as some graphics and insignia of both Bryant and Duke. This pair was given to KB24 aka the Black Mamba in his own shoe size of a US 14 and came in a special wooden box. via STREEThing

While in Singapore in Feburary, I had the chance to catch up with Mark a.k.a SBTG, at his place in Haji Lane. Kicking back and relaxing in the 24/7 humidity, it was nice to share experiences about high school basketball and this, that and another while previewing of the Varsity Bones Collection and what Mark (and now I) claim to be the BEST fish soup in the 'Pore. I must say, the choice of Alumnis used was very true to the powerhouses of NCdoubleA basketball; despite Uconn not making the Cut.
What wasn't shown was the SBTG x Nike Dunk High Varsity Bones for Kobe Bryant makeup. The detailing is amazing, the Blue Devils Colourway is onpoint, along with the laser detailing contained on teh box. Nice touch on the "Made in Sin" and I the aged midsole combined with the Kobe insignia rounds it off nicely.
Oh, and by the way Mark, can you throw me together a UConn make up =D You know, if I decided to play for Jim Calhoun instead of going straight to the League! Congratulations on the project and Hope to catch up when I'm over next. Oh, and tell Kobe I say hi =D.
